Frequently asked questions.
How do I extend my burn time?
Proper care and maintenance can add up to 10 full hours of burn time!
Allow wax to melt completely to the edges of the glass to prevent “tunneling”.
Keep wick trimmed to 1/4" tall and keep wax clear from debris.
Avoid burning for more than 3-4 hours at a time.
What’s the safest way to burn candles?
Never leave a burning candle unattended.
Keep out of reach of children and pets.
Place on a stable heat resistant surface, away from flammable objects.
Keep wick trimmed to 1/4" tall and keep wax clear from debris.
Avoid burning for more than 3-4 hours at a time.
Where do you source materials?
We use only 100% U.S. sourced soy wax. It’s all-natural American soybean wax from the rich soils of America’s Heartland.
Our fragrance oils are sourced in the US and are infused with natural plant derived essential oils.
Why soy wax? Isn’t it way more expensive than paraffin?
We prefer soy wax over paraffin wax because it is considered a cleaner burning, more environmentally friendly option, as it is derived from a renewable resource (soybeans) while paraffin comes from petroleum, a non-renewable source; soy wax also produces less soot and toxins when burned, making it a better choice for indoor air quality, especially for people with sensitivities. It’s more expensive, but a non-negotiable for us!
How do I clean the wax to reuse the glass?
There are a few method like freezing, adding boiling water or using a double boiler method.
If you just want to clean it fast and move on, pour boiling water into the glass and wait for the wax to melt and float to the surface. Use a paper towel or old newspaper to remove the wax and dispose of it. Then either hand wash or run through the dishwasher like normal.
If you’re looking to up your eco game, place the glasses sitting upright in a large pot with two inches of boiling water (double boiler method) once the wax melts pour it into an old paper egg carton. This creates really great fire starters that also smell great! Finish cleaning the glass with old newsprint and keep it as another good fire starter. Then wash like normal. This is a true zero waste method.
